QUESTION CONNECTION @ GREENWOODS CAMP

I had so much fun working with new campers at Greenwoods Camp tonight! It’s always important to stay connected with new friends (even if on Zoom)!. Looking forward to working with more kids tomorrow, and the Glen camp in the future!

Question Connection Featured in JUF

I loved talking with JUF earlier this month about my plans to work with Question Connection throughout my gap year. It has been great to take the time to virtually meet with people and establish connections. I’m so grateful to JUF for giving me the space to share my story. Looking forward to the future!!

Princeton Prize in Race Relations

I am so honored to have received a Certificate of Accomplishment from the Chicago Princeton Prize in Race Relations as a result from my work with Question Connection. Sitting in on the conference discussion panel with several accomplished peers and Princeton alumni was a transformative experience that I will carry with me in my future work. This event was a reminder of the endless opportunities young people have to effect positive change within their own communities. Stay tuned, more exciting things to come!

Not the Senior Year we Expected...

http://www.sonomawest.com/the_windsor_times/opinion/columns/this-isn-t-the-senior-year-i-was-expecting-a-high-school-senior-s-perspective/article_ac08e6f2-7506-11ea-9d7f-f38e04d5edb4.html

Hi everyone! I hope you are all staying healthy and safe. I found this article online, and I couldn’t help but see a lot of similarities between this writer’s experience and my own time at the end of my senior year of high school. As a senior who is currently transitioning to college, this pandemic definitely hasn’t been easy. We missed out on our final high school celebrations, and are embracing a new reality in which we cannot say good bye to our friends and teachers as we part ways. That being said, I am extremely grateful to be surrounded by family during this difficult time. We are all so thankful for our health and look forward to rebuilding once this passes.

Connecting during Quarantine

Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe! Although I am so grateful to be surrounded by family during this time, it has definitely been difficult staying connected with friends while in quarantine. That’s why I am so excited to announce that Question Connection will be doing a giveaway throughout this week! Each day, one deck will be given away. Talking Instead of Texting Can Save Relationships

Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe!! I’ve taken this quarantine as an opportunity to do a little more online reading. I found this interesting article that addresses the power of TALKING in human relationships and thought I would share below. Happy reading :)

If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to_____________________.

After more than a week in quarantine, my answer to this prompt has definitely changed. Before COVID19, I would have responded that I would take a trip to someplace exotic like Greece or Hong Kong. Traveling away from my home would have afforded me the opportunity to experience a new culture and meet new people, something I really love to do whenever I get the chance. However today, as the virus locks up my school and keeps me from my friends, I have come to a very different conclusion as to where else I want to be…

For me, right now, I am happy to be at home with my family. I am the youngest of five and for the last two years I have been the only one at home with my parents, while three of my siblings were living and working in New York City and one of my siblings in college in Los Angeles. While all five of us saw each other often for holidays and vacations, it was nothing like the closely connected full house we are experiencing during this quarantine. I have to admit that I often relished in the attention I received while they were all away, but that does not compare to the happiness I am feeling as a result of all of us being together under one roof  :)

Stop Googling. Start Talking

A friend emailed me the link to this amazing article. She told me she was reading it in one of her classes and it reminded her of what I was doing with Question Connection. It deals with the psychology of online connectivity and how interpersonal communication is being altered as a result of technology and social media. The article sparks many eye opening realizations regarding the nature of our conversations as a result of technology, writing “even a silent phone disconnects us.” I am honored to have been associated with such a moving and educational piece!
